Planning
Vegetable gardening requires good and careful planning like any other job. Use proper spacing between plants for good air circulation. Rotate the crops, which means that don't plant crops of the same family at the same spot in succession. A good way to ensure this would be to space plants such that the leaves of mature plants don't touch each other and a small gap remains.
Take the sun's path into consideration so that any tall plants do not shade the shorter ones
